Origin and Species Overview
The species first began life as a microscopic, sentient virus in their world; quickly spreading in an attempt to find a suitable host to infect. The first viable species they came across were frogs and small amphibians/reptiles- docile and harmless, and their DNA could easily be mutated to suit the virus' need to change and evolve into something larger for better protection; also because the virus wasn't strong enough to infect anything larger than that.
